A Feast with Friends

I was talking with Savannah last week, and decided that we should all get together for a Thanksgiving Dinner since we would all be leaving for the break. We gathered all the roommates and put together an actual Pre-Thanksgiving Feast. We prepared a bacon roasted turkey breast, mashed some potatoes, tossed some salad, creamed some gravy, and opened some corn. It was an amazing meal, and was great to have a wonderful meal with my friends here in Cedar.

The end of the year is my most favorite time of year. Being kind, having fun, and no school make everyone great to be with. Looking forward to making great memories this year.

New House

New Computer

So recently my roommate Steve purchased a new town house. I went with him and now we are loving the central air and new house smell. I was so happy in fact that I got around to building my new computer. For all the geeks out there, it has a Nvidia GTX 470 and is awesome for gaming.

New Adventures

Las Vegas.
Family Vacation this year. For about a week we were in the happiest place on earth. Not Sin City, that was just a stop so the drive was bearable, I mean Disneyland!

I saw Mickey talking to some kids, so I walked over and said "Hey Mickey!" He waved and gave me a perfect photo op. What a nice mouse.

Disneyland is really most fun when you can enjoy the magic with kids. My two favorite nieces were there to keep me entertained and show me the whimsy of childhood. A long day of standing and walking in the sun can get to anyone so me and Jade had to take a break and make some calls.

So, we had one "beach day" and I can say it was one of the most fun. My dad sat on the sand and I made sure that he knew he was getting in to fight the waves with me. It didn't take long for Jason, my dad, and I to look fear in the face.

We each found our own way of fighting the waves, some would leave you dazed with a rancid salt taste in your mouth.

In the end we all knew it was better to just enjoy the power of the Pacific. And that we did, until we all were victim to a sunburn that we could never forget.

My father is quite agile in the water.

Laguna Beach.

You can tell we are at the happiest place on earth!

The last time that I was in Disneyland was more than 10 years ago. I forgot what I was missing! California Adventure was a nice addition to the magic that I remember. Thanks for taking me. It was so much fun to spend time with everyone.

Summer Breeze

This weekend I visited my family in Richfield. Wii sword slicing with Jason, visiting Grandma, and eating real food were a few highlights. The fish might have been biting, but the wind made it so we will never know. I decided that instead of fighting the wind, I would play in it. My dragon kite enjoyed its first flight.
I have started to upload all my pictures to:

This will help me to keep track of them.

Also, one week left.

Adventures and Hope

Summer has been nice so far. Working is going great. I got a new guy working under me in Cedar that I had to show the ropes to. So far I have had lots of great adventures.

With my new job came some opportunities to see what a great place Utah is to see. My first far away call was in Escalante, so I took Trent and we hiked some sweet red rock. The next day I was on my way to Wahweap at Lake Powell. I took Trevor and we hung out at the beach with some ducks, and hiked around a bit. Then the next day I was off to Mesquite with the fam for Kristin's annual birthday trip. I think we like her birthday best, nobody else has a mandatory vacation. Then today I went on another hike into the snowy river just east of Cedar.
It has been good to spend time with friends in the outdoors. The older I get the more I appreciate things like that. Still waiting for June to roll around so I can finally be with Savannah. I will post again if I take any more pictures.

Summer Dreams

School is over. For now. So, four or so months of no studying, group projects, or professional procrastination. While this seems like a good thing, part of me is not celebrating yet. Recently someone has come into my life that has made a pretty big impact. While it was a short time, it was not short of feeling. Now she is gone for a month. Also, my housing contract is up in a month. Steve has purchased a new house, where we will be it's first residents. It appears as though I have one month of silence.
Work will be good. I am Dell Certified, and have completed a few service calls. I will still maintain my employment at Subway. Keep me busy, and on the subway diet.
Summer will be good. We started it off with a hike up a local mountain. While from below it seemed reasonably simple, it took a bit more effort and sweat than we had anticipated. This summer will be filled with hiking and adventures. Interesting how priorities change over the years.

Hopeful Future

I received a packet today in the mail. It was all my training materials from Dell Computers. I have 5 days to complete all six certification exams and become a certified technician.

Does this mean that I am contributing to society? Has my teenage rebellion finally run it's course? Not likely, but I'm pretty excited to be where I am.

Working at Subway for so long led to me believe that I was wasting who I am in a menial job. A while ago I was talking to a customer about my state of mind at Sub Mart. I used the word demeaning. He quickly replied that no job is demeaning when we are doing it with integrity and honesty. I am not bitter. I quite enjoy it to be honest.
I am blogging now because I feel good about who I am. With my last real summer break coming up soon I feel like so much has happened so quickly. As I try and catch up I will try to blog the most significant aspects of it.

Oh, that cheesy picture is for my laminate at Dell.
